Pitching Lessons

Ducey just finished her Freshman Collegiate season at USCB (University of South Carolina at Beaufort) with the Sand Sharks going 40-13 on the season as a team.

As a Freshman, Ducey appeared in 25 games and started 16, with one save.  Ducey pitched 10 complete games with 6 shut outs.  Recorded a 1.92 ERA, Allowed 101 hits holding her opponents to .237 batting average.  The freshman only gave up 31 earned runs.  She had a total of 79 strikeouts and only 19 walks on the entire season.

 

Ducey's 1st complete game she pitched against Brewton Parker she gave up one hit, no runs with 10 strikeouts, being named Conference Pitcher of the Week.  She threw a no-hitter against Webber International the week before heading into Conference Tournament.

 

As a Collegiate Freshman Ducey made 1st Team All-Conference and was then named to the All-Tournament Team after the Sand Sharks went undefeated at the Conference Tournament bringing home the Crown!  Out of 19 innings pitched during the Sun Conference Tournament in Clermont, FL Ducey was in the circle 17 1/3 innings. When the season ended she was also named All-Region.

 

Sloan Ducey grew up in Indian Trail, NC attending Porter Ridge High School.  As a Senior Ducey, was named All-State, Softball Player of the Year, Conference Player of the Year, All-Conference 1st Team, 1st Team All Charlotte, 1st Team All-Union County, and awarded 2018 Distinguished Athlete Award.  Ducey's Senior year she threw 2 no-hitters, 2 perfect games and 6 shut outs with 14 complete games.  Lead the conference in ERA .074.  Lead the Conference in strikeouts at 161.  Lead the league in wins with 12.

 

Ducey played with Team NC winning the birth to the National Tournament every year from 2013 to 2018.

 

Ducey said as a Collegiate player "Do not think you are to good to sit on the bench and root for your team, be a Team player and some of your best memories will be while you are on the bench cheering on your teammates!"
